Meet with local people affected by Lyme Disease for discussion,
information, and support. Our support group usually meets in Virginia Beach, and
we welcome everyone (nearby cities include Chesapeake, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, and Suffolk, and parts of northeastern North Carolina).
"Lyme Disease is a multisystem infection transmitted by the bite of an infected tick. The primary symptoms include an enlarging skin rash and flu-like symptoms. If untreated, the infection can spread to the brain, eyes, heart, joints, or skin, and cause a wide range of manifestations. About 150,000 people have met the federal governments definition as having Lyme Disease. There could be as many as 2 million people across the country infected with this disease."
